Mecca Productions to Install Encanto Set Elements at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Mecca Productions, Inc. will soon begin installing set elements at the Encanto attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That’s according to a Notice of Commencement permit filed this afternoon by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Mecca is a frequent Imagineering collaborator. In fact, they’re already hard at work in Tropical Americas, helping transform DINOSAUR into a new Indiana Jones attraction. They’re also contributing to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Earlier this month, Imagineering filed another NOC allowing Scenario to install Encanto set pieces. Between the two permits, the Madrigal family’s Casita should start feeling a lot less like a construction site and a lot more… magical.

Casa Madrigal’s construction progress is both welcome and necessary. Disney is moving with some urgency here, knowing that Animal Kingdom sorely needs capacity. Tropical Americas is set to debut in 2027.
