Disney Adjusts Magic Kingdom Annual Passholder Rules for Starlight Parade

Annual Passholders hoping to catch the Disney Starlight Parade should book their Magic Kingdom park reservations as soon as possible. Disney is changing its AP policies for those planning to visit the park when the parade debuts on July 20. No end date has been announced. Here’s the full announcement:

Due to anticipated high demand, for a limited time upon the opening of this new parade on July 20, 2025, Annual Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom park at any time of day (including after 2:00 PM) must have a theme park reservation. Passholders will continue to be able to enter EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park after 2:00 PM without a theme park reservation.

Currently, Annual Passholders can visit any park after 2 PM without a reservation (except for Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom). APs also don’t need reservations on good-to-go days.

Disney hasn’t adjusted its park hopping rules, but it’s a near certainty that guests will be turned away as the parade time approaches on July 20. Those wanting to enjoy the Disney Starlight premiere should book their park passes now. Magic Kingdom still has availability as of publication.
