Doozie’s Scavenger Hunt Takes Shape at Universal Kids Resort
Universal Kids Resort is giving guests a sneak peek at Doozie’s big event this weekend. I visited this morning and found 2-D cutouts of Gabby’s younger sister and her gang scattered throughout the park.
Presumably, these cutouts are part of the scavenger hunt happening Saturday and Sunday. They can be found in four of the park’s seven lands, the ones that feature DreamWorks characters. Jurassic World Adventure Camp, SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, and Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club are sitting this one out.
The largest display stands outside the Universal Kids Resort Theater and includes the whole gang:
- Doozie
- Puggie Paws
- CreamPup
- Seaquin
- PixiePup
- Crouton
- BoxPup
- Swaggy
- GamePup
- DreamPup
Spoiler alert: If your kids want to find the characters themselves, this would be a good place to stop scrolling.
You’ll find individual characters as soon as you enter Isle of Curiosity. CreamPup and Crouton are both near the park entrance.
Heading left into TrollsFest, you’ll find Puggie Paws just past the entrance to Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express.
Next is the UKR Theater, where GamePup stands near the large group display to announce the scavenger hunt.
Swaggy is hanging out at the entrance to the Trollstastic Theater.
Over in Shrek’s Swamp, you’ll find DreamPup and Seaquin. Shrek has more neighbors. I’m sure he’s thrilled.
The dog-loving Doozie is in Del Mar’s courtyard, surrounded by cats. At least she has Perrito.
Finally, PixiePup is relaxing in Del Mar’s Sensory Garden.
The one character I didn’t find was BoxPup. He’s small. I’m tall. No excuses, but that’s mine. I also had a meeting to get to, so my time in the park was brief. I’ll go back later and look for him.
In addition to the 2-D characters, several Gabby’s Dollhouse statues have returned to the Isle of Curiosity. They debuted with the park in July, sitting in a narrow planter just inside the land. But they disappeared pretty quickly. I never heard why, though watching kids regularly climb on and hug them gave me a theory.
The cats are now farther back in the flower beds. We’ll see how well mulch deters that affection.
Doozie’s weekend begins in just a few hours with a pool party for hotel guests. On Saturday and Sunday, park visitors can meet her, take part in the scavenger hunt, preview Doozie’s Doghouse, make crafts, and enjoy treats. Activities run from noon to 6 PM both days.
