7 New Permits Filed for Disney Lakeshore Lodge Signage and Set Installation

Walt Disney Imagineering filed seven Notices of Commencement today for Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Six of the permits assign Design Communications Ltd. to install signage at the upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort, while a seventh has ThemeWorks, Inc. adding set elements.

The filings cover six addresses along Wilderness Road, with 648 W. Wilderness tied to two permits.

Design Communications has been everywhere lately. In the past few months, they’ve shown up on permits tied to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, The Magic of Disney Animation, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. They’re also behind the Universal Kids Resort Hotel sign.

I haven’t yet written about ThemeWorks, but they have an equally impressive portfolio, having contributed to Islands of Adventure’s Knight Bus, SeaWorld’s Mako, and the Safari of Fun at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

Based on these filings, it appears Disney’s plans to open Lakeshore Lodge in 2027 are on track.
