Walt Disney World Power Outage Impacts 40 Attractions
A major power surge or outage has thrown Walt Disney World operations into chaos. Shortly before 5 PM, our favorite tiny artist, Jaime, texted us from Hollywood Studios to report that the lights were out inside the ABC Commissary. I immediately checked the My Disney Experience (MDE) app, and while everything looked normal at first, attractions began dropping offline one after another. As of publication, 40 rides across the resort are still impacted.
Some of the closures could be weather-related, with a thunderstorm moving through the area, but most are likely tied to the power issue. It’s still unclear whether the surge itself was caused by the storm.
