Universal Kids Resort Theme Nights Coming to Frisco RoughRiders Games

Universal Kids Resort and the Frisco RoughRiders are teaming up for three Universal Kids Resort Theme Nights this season. The RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will kick things off by welcoming Shrek and Fiona to Riders Field on August 1, 2026.

Fans hoping to meet the power couple can add a VIP Photo Pass to their game ticket. The $40 upgrade includes access to a pregame meet-and-greet. Shrek and Fiona will also mingle with fans during the game.

Two more Universal Kids Resort Theme Nights are scheduled for August 21 and September 6. The characters appearing on those nights haven’t been announced, but we’re pulling for the Purple Minion. All of the park’s character experiences are great, but his side-eye stare and lifeless arms put him on another level.

Along with the character appearances, the RoughRiders promise “themed entertainment, photo opportunities, and family-friendly fun” during each Theme Night. Additional details will be announced before each game.

This won’t be the first time Universal characters have appeared at a North Texas baseball game. Queen Poppy and Delta Dawn threw out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers game in May.
