Fire in EPCOT's France Pavilion Quickly Extinguished

A fire broke out in EPCOT’s France Pavilion this evening. The billowing smoke caused a flurry of social media posts, but the small blaze was quickly extinguished. Disney has confirmed there were no injuries. The incident began when a walk-in cooler caught fire in the pavilion’s backstage area. X’s @pastamutt snapped our lead photo while visiting Disney’s Boardwalk.

X’s @ryanwmsn filmed the fire while riding the Skyliner. Flames are clearly visible in his short clip.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Impressions de France are currently closed. We don’t know how long that will be the case. Any fire is serious, even more so when thousands of theme park guests are in such close proximity. Kudos to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Fire Department for putting it out so quickly.
