Halloween Decorations Arrive at Universal Kids Resort
Halloween has arrived at Universal Kids Resort. Well, some of the decorations have.
The Frisco theme park’s Halloween season officially runs from October 2 through November 1, but preparations are already underway. A massive pumpkin bearing the park’s logo now sits on a stage between Isle of Curiosity and Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club.
The pumpkin drew plenty of attention all day long. Despite the ropes and signs asking guests to stay off the stage, I noticed quite a few tiny footprints up there.
The stage will host four Halloween-themed performances each day during the season. Universal hasn’t shared any other details, but we’re hoping the shows include characters from each land in the park.
Spiders and bats cover the pumpkin, which is framed by more reasonably-sized pumpkins, hay bales, dried leaves, and cornstalks. I also spotted an electrical cord running from behind the logo, suggesting it will light up after dark.
Similar decorations can be found throughout Isle of Curiosity. Pumpkins have been added to the flower beds, and cornstalks wrap several poles.
Universal has also installed a black truss over the walkway connecting Isle of Curiosity and Bikini Bottom. Fabric covers the steel frame and conceals plenty of wiring. Cornstalks, sunflowers, and pumpkins decorate the base of each tower.
We’ve been told the Halloween decorations will eventually spread to the park’s other lands. I’ll be on the lookout.
