ESPN Tile Coming to Disney+ By the End of the Year

After successfully adding Hulu content to Disney+, Disney plans to do the same with ESPN+ programming. During the company’s Q2 earnings call, Bob Iger announced that an ESPN tile will be added to Disney+ by the end of the year.

“In March, we successfully launched Hulu on Disney+, bringing extensive general entertainment content to the platform for bundle subscribers [and] we’re encouraged by the early results. By the end of this calendar year, we will be adding an ESPN tile to Disney+, giving all U.S. subscribers access to select live games and studio programming within the Disney+ app.”

Later in the call, Iger said that the ESPN+ tile will have a “modest amount of programming.” The intent is to make Disney+ users aware of sports content.

Finally, Bob Iger said that users who buy the upcoming ESPN flagship app will receive all ESPN+ content.
