EPCOT’s DiveQuest Is Back! What to Know Before Booking

EPCOT’s DiveQuest Is Back! What to Know Before Booking

Disney quietly announced the return of DiveQuest this morning. EPCOT’s most exclusive experience was temporarily paused last September so Disney could make infrastructure updates to The Seas with Nemo & Friends aquarium. At that time, the facility’s dolphins were rehomed to Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park in Fort Walton Beach. Unlike DiveQuest, the dolphins won’t be returning.

DiveQuest reservations are now available for select dates in May and June. The experience isn’t offered on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Prices range from $229 to $249 depending on the day, but discounts are available. Log in to the Disney World website before booking to see those discounts. My test reservation came to $194.65 before tax.

Remember what I said about DiveQuest being exclusive? You need to be Open Water SCUBA-certified to take part. Bring your C-card (or a verification from a certifying agency) and a photo ID to check in. While wetsuits are provided, you shouldn’t wear them in EPCOT. Changing facilities are provided. Finally, while DiveQuest is available for children as young as 10, 10- to 15-year-olds must be accompanied by a paying participating parent or guardian. All minors will need their parent or legal guardian to sign a waiver prior to diving.

DiveQuest is a 2-hour experience, 40 minutes of which are spent in the water. Danielle wrote about her time in EPCOT’s aquarium last year. Reading it makes me wish I was certified.
