EPCOT’s Seas Pavilion Relocating Dolphins, Manatee
Three dolphins and a manatee will soon be leaving EPCOT’s Seas Pavilion. Lou the Manatee, a fan favorite, will move to another Florida manatee rehabilitation center on Wednesday. Lil Joe, The Seas’ other manatee, won’t be alone for long. A new friend will soon join him in EPCOT’s aquarium. The Manatee Rehabilitation Partnership has recommended the swap “as part of a broader set of manatee moves around the state.”
“While we will greatly miss Lou, we do look forward to aiding this other manatee in the next stage of rehabilitation as we continue to do our part in addressing the manatee crisis in Florida, which has seen declining manatee populations in the past few years.”

Next month, three male dolphins will travel from The Seas Pavilion to Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park in Fort Walton Beach. This move was made in the animals’ best interest as Disney works on infrastructure updates to The Seas. DiveQuest and Dolphins in Depth will continue through October 19. DiveQuest will return next year.
