Disney Updates Hotel Check-In in My Disney Experience (MDE)

Disney continues refining its theme park apps. Today, the company rolled out a significant update to the online hotel check-in flow in the My Disney Experience (MDE). The improved interface makes it much easier for guests to understand exactly which steps still need to be completed before arrival.

We haven’t yet been able to confirm whether the improved check-in flow is live in the Disneyland app. We assume it’s either already available or arriving soon if it isn’t. We’ll update this article once we learn more.

The redesigned UX does a far better job guiding users through the process. Completed steps are now highlighted with green modules, while unfinished sections appear in yellow, making incomplete tasks immediately stand out. Optional steps have a light blue header background.

The updated layout also benefits guests who have already checked in. The cleaner design makes it easier to revisit specific sections and update details ahead of their stay.

Here are several screenshots from the MDE app showing the improved design.

This is the latest in a series of Disney theme park app pluses. Their IT department has rolled out beautiful updates to search, daily plans, resort maps, and dining reservations. Taken together, the Disneyland and MDE apps feel lightyears ahead of where they were even a year ago.
