My Disney Experience App Update Improves Search Interface
The My Disney Experience (MDE) app keeps getting better. Whether it’s sleek dining reservation tools, smarter map filters, or more intuitive planning tools, Disney IT has quietly delivered some fantastic improvements. Today, they rolled out a search update that continues the trend.
The app’s search results have gone bigger. Literally. The updated interface makes everything easier to read and, just as importantly, easier to tap.
MDE returns search results in two ways. First, it begins populating a list as the user types. Previously, the spacing between those links was way too tight for my fingers. I never tapped the one I meant to. This update fixes that by increasing the font size and adding a little more breathing room between each item.

For users who skip those quick suggestions and instead tap the search button, the full results screen also looks much better. Once again, text and margins have been increased. The small circular images that used to accompany results have been replaced with taller photos. That might sound like a minor tweak, but when a search returns a long list of results, those images provide helpful context. They don’t just make the page look nicer. They help guests quickly identify what they’re looking for.

And that’s what makes this update so welcome. The My Disney Experience app isn’t just a convenience. It’s a vital tool for enjoying a Walt Disney World vacation. From mobile ordering to Lightning Lane selections to park navigation, guests rely on it constantly. So credit to Disney IT for continuing to improve the MDE.
The Disneyland app hasn’t yet received this update, but we expect it to roll out there soon.
