Disney Destiny is Now Floating

The Disney Destiny reached a major construction milestone last week. Disney’s newest ship is now floating in its Meyer Werft Shipyard home. Shipbuilders filled the building dock with water from the Ems River, raising the Destiny from the floor. The process, called “float up,” allowed crews to guide the ship to another location in the hall. Meyer Werft teams can now begin testing the main engines and other onboard systems.

The Disney Destiny sets sail on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025.
