Wanna See Greatness? Find Kevin In Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom character interactions are the best. I’ve already written about DiVine here, here, and here. I’ll be writing about the Merry Menagerie shortly. But the character that brings me the most joy is Kevin from Up! Imagineers have recreated this Pixar momma bird in perfect detail. When I see her walking through the park, I forget all about riding Flight of Passage or eating Satu’li Canteen. She’s that incredible.

Kevin is usually joined by two Wilderness Explorers. On rare occasions, she’ll be accompanied by Russell and Dug. I’ve not been lucky enough to spot all three together.

Kevin is tall, awkward, and spectacular. She’ll interact with guests in her unique way, giving sideways glances while flapping her tiny wings. Some younger guests may also be invited to touch her feathers. I’m too old and tall to be that lucky. But Kevin usually acknowledges me with a squawk.

Kevin’s appearance times are listed in the My Disney Experience App. You can usually find her on Discovery Island, but she has been known to visit Asia, as well.
