Universal Kids Resort Preview Highlights Minions vs. Minions Bello Bay
Universal Creative shared its latest video in a series promoting Universal Kids Resort. This time, they’re taking us inside Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, offering a closer look at the land coming to the Frisco, Texas, theme park.
My biggest takeaway from the preview is just how many Minion figures we’ll encounter in the land. We’ve seen them in concept art, staged in shipping crates in the laydown yard, and even in person on the diving platform that towers over Bello Bay. But Universal’s animations make their numbers much more tangible. There are a ton of them.

You might be wondering how I know the Minions are actually in those crates. The shipping labels are doing the heavy lifting. Each includes photos of the contents. One item isn’t a Minion at all, but a “trophy with bananas,” which also appears in the concept art.

Yellow vs. purple chaos
Universal Creative opted to include both yellow and purple Minions in Bello Bay, which is a brilliant move. Executive producer Susan Cummings explained the dynamic:
“Folks love Minions, so let’s bring them to Frisco. But not only that, let’s bring the purple Minions with them, and let’s put them in a competition. And let’s let our guests be part of that competition.”

That competition will be front and center on the land’s two attractions: Bello Bay Cruise and Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby. The cruise features a whirlpool waterfall and plenty of water effects. Nobody will mind getting doused during North Texas’ brutal summer months. We’ll be begging for those purple Minions to do their worst.

The derby has similar vibes, just without the water. The yellow Minions are trying to play a round of golf, while the purple Minions do everything they can to disrupt it.
Kids will also be able to cool off in a free-play splash pad, which is, unsurprisingly, filled with more Minion figures.

Meet Kevin and/or Stuart
Guests will also have the chance to meet Minions in the land. Associate producer Emily Probus said visitors may encounter Stuart or Kevin while the Minions are on vacation at Bello Bay. The phrasing suggests only one may appear at a time, though that remains to be seen.
Beyond the attractions, the video provided some clarity on a few details we’ve been watching. First, we got our clearest look yet at the land’s entrance marquee, mounted atop a van stacked with luggage and a raging purple Minion. This will be a big Instagram spot.
Bello Bay Boutique and Bites
Behind the van sits Bello Bay Boutique and Bites. The video confirms the building will receive the yellow and purple paint scheme seen in concept art. Aahs n Oohs and I had started to question whether that would happen. The natural wood facade looks great, but it appears the brighter Minion color palette is still happening.

Universal also highlighted the amount of theming throughout the land. The walls along Bello Bay Cruise are covered in two-dimensional Minion artwork. We’ve spotted several of these pieces in the laydown yard in recent weeks. Some have already been installed, while many more are still waiting to go in.

Universal’s latest preview makes one thing clear: Bello Bay is going to be a massive hit. Between the sheer number of Minions, the chaotic yellow vs. purple dynamic, and attractions built to keep guests cool in the Texas heat, this Universal Kids Resort land is checking every box.
