The Electric Mayhem’s Hollywood Studios Concert Featured John Stamos and Chaos

The Electric Mayhem performed a live concert at G-Force Records earlier this evening for select media and other guests. And in the true Muppets fashion, the night spiraled into complete nonsense. Songs were shut down for increasingly ridiculous reasons, a lawyer barred John Stamos from playing bongos, and The Electric Mayhem eventually became more concerned about turkey legs and churros than actually finishing a concert.

It was perfect.

Stamos actually joined the band on stage, though he never really got the chance to perform. After starting one song, Floyd Pepper cut everyone off:

“No no no no no no. Stop stop stop stop stop. No no no no no no. We can not play this one. Remember, my mom hates this song. Can’t do it.”

The next song didn’t meet Lips’ approval either, though I’m not entirely sure why. Apparently, somebody died. Or something. Whatever happened, it was really upsetting for him.

Then the next song ended when Joe from Legal stopped Stamos from playing the bongos. The Muppet attorney appeared on a giant screen behind the band.

“Halt. Stop that. Stop that. Cease and desist. Mr. Stamos, kindly refrain from further bongoing at this time. Unfortunately, any and all encouragement of rhythmic audience participation en masse without proper PPE [Personal Protective Equipment] for all parties is in direct violation of our current safety agreement. Participants must refrain from stomping, clapping, or any other synchronized noise making at this juncture.”

Someone asked about shaking. Joe’s response: “Negative.” “Rattle?” “Nope.” “Roll?” “Not a chance.”

“In fact, all motions will be denied!”

He left the screen, laughing at his terrible joke.

John, realizing he was legally barred from performing, told The Electric Mayhem he was leaving to get snacks. The band put in their orders for turkey legs, corn dogs, and churros.

If that sounds too ridiculous to believe, Alicia Stella captured the train wreck on X.

The rest of the concert went a little smoother. The band performed “Song 2 LIVE,” “Born to Be Wild,” and their iconic “Can You Picture That?”

This was a special one-off concert, but I hope Disney sees what a gold mine they have with The Muppets and gives them their own show. Having a roller coaster named after them is cool. But tonight proved just how special Jim Henson’s creations are.
