“Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash” Installed at Universal Kids Resort
Update (December 7, 2025): Crews have begun installing Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash at Universal Kids Resort. The wet-play area features a WhiteWater AquaForte TB with interactive water elements and a tipping bucket. Expect this space to be a crowd-pleaser during hot Texas summers.

This isn’t Whitewater’s first Frisco project. The company, which specializes in fully customizable water park features, also supplied the much larger AquaPlay at the Frisco Athletic Center. Universal Kids Resort’s version is the AquaForte TB, a 15-foot-tall structure capped with the dousing bucket.

In addition to the wet-play zone, the park will feature a second free-play area called Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp.
A huge thanks to Aahs n Oohs for his help on this story. I snapped a photo of the play area and sent it to him while still at the park. By the time I walked through my front door, he’d already filled in many of the details you just read.
Our original story:
DreamWorks has filed a trademark for “Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.” The filing, classified as amusement park, theme park, and waterpark services, likely hints at a Shrek-themed wet play area coming to the upcoming Universal Kids Resort.

Universal released a teaser trailer for the new park earlier today. Since Universal Kids is still under construction, the video features footage from Shrek’s Swamp for Little Ogres at Universal Studios Florida, offering a preview of what guests can expect from Frisco’s Shrek attraction. You can spot the likely Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash in concept art released by Universal back in June.

Shrek’s wet and dry play areas will be huge hits with the park’s younger visitors. Universal Kids Resort debuts in the spring or summer of 2026.
