Scooter Audio-Animatronic Coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

We’ve already learned about Clawhauser and Anna and Elsa, but there’s one more bit of Audio-Animatronic news this morning. Scooter will be brought to life when The Muppets take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster next year. Electric Mayhem’s manager (and former Muppet Show stage manager) will be front and center in the band’s recording studio. Previously teased in concept art, Disney Parks Blog officially confirmed it this morning:

“Side by side with a dedicated team of penguin audio engineers, Scooter, in his capacity as band manager, will be trying hard to convince the Electric Mayhem to stop laying down tracks so they won’t be late to their own concert. This will be the first time Scooter has ever been imagined as an Audio-Animatronics figure, and I hear he might not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction… but we’ll have to wait to learn more about that.”

My fingers are crossed that Animal joins the animatronic lineup. Also, word is that those penguins are the very same ones who once performed in the Muppet*Vision 3D pit orchestra.

In addition to the above news, Disney also shared some new psychedelic artwork for the ride. Oh, and they narrowed down the opening timeline. It’s next summer. We’re getting close to having real numbers on our countdown clock.

The ride’s current version, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, will remain open at least through the end of the year.
