Benjamin Clawhauser Animatronic Coming to Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

Disney World dropped a week’s worth of news in a single morning, and most of it is excellent. Sure, they also hiked prices across nearly everything at the resort, but we’ll save that for later. Right now, let’s focus on the fact that Imagineering is rolling out some amazing new Audio-Animatronics. First up, Animal Kingdom is getting Benjamin Clawhauser. The ZPD fan-favorite will join guests in the Tree of Life Theater for Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

The show takes place on Zootopia Day. Park guests will be able to join host Heidi Howler and other animals as they celebrate the diverse biomes of their city. Here’s how Disney describes it:

“I hope you’re ready to join in the fun, because we’re all invited to join the audience too! Thanks to the special ‘Carrot Vision’ glasses we’ll wear as part of the watch party experience, some of your favorite characters from Zootopia and Zootopia 2 will ‘jump’ off the screen … except for Gazelle’s number one fan and off-duty ZPD officer. That’s right, Benjamin Clawhauser himself will be in the theater with us, in the form of an all-new Audio-Animatronics figure.”

Instead of wearing his usual police department duds, Clawhauser will be decked out in “glow necklaces, bracelets, and his favorite, glittery Gazelle tee shirt.” Apparently, the over-eager cop goes off the rails when he’s not chosen as the V.I.Z. (Very Important Zootopian), the animal given special access to Zootopia Day performers.

I like the concept. No, it won’t be as chaotic and dark as It’s Tough to be a Bug!, but it should be a better show for younger park guests.
