Orlando, Hollywood Team Members Staying as Guests at Universal Kids Resort Hotel

Universal Team Members from Orlando and Hollywood are currently staying at the Universal Kids Resort Hotel in Frisco, Texas. No, it’s not a company retreat. They’re here to help local staff get comfortable with day-to-day hotel operations before paying guests arrive.

We first noticed something was up when ride shares began dropping people off at the hotel a few nights ago. A-frame signs at the entrance make it clear the property is still closed to the public. Anyone entering needs a Team Member ID.

The 300-room Universal Kids Resort Hotel is a big step for Universal. Unlike at Universal Orlando Resort – where Loews runs the hotels – this one appears to be owned and operated by Universal itself. That makes this testing phase even more important than usual. Universal isn’t fine-tuning a partner hotel. It’s testing its own operation. Everything is under scrutiny.

The Universal Kids Resort Hotel and its newly installed signs

Multiple sources tell us hotel operations are now running 24/7, giving Team Members a chance to experience the resort exactly as future guests will. That includes everything from keeping back-of-house activity out of sight to ensuring public spaces remain clean.

It’s still unclear whether those Team Members are getting into the park itself. Daytime hours are all about construction, with crews pouring concrete, installing set pieces, and painting. At night, ride operations take over.

This is the latest sign that Universal Kids Resort is very close to welcoming guests. An official announcement feels imminent.
