Make-A-Wish Families Enjoy Aulani Wish Week

Disney and Make-A-Wish have teamed up again, this time to make 22 kids’ Hawaiian dreams come true. The kids and their families recently visited Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa to celebrate Aulani Wish Week. The Wish families enjoyed snorkeling, a traditional lū‘au, character meets, trick-or-treating, and a Halloween night dance party.

It was the perfect vacation for Harper, an 8-year-old from Connecticut. Her wish was to meet Moana and enjoy warm weather. “We got to meet Moana on our first full day here,” said Harper’s mom Jenna. “Harper had been sleeping, and when she woke up, she reached out and grabbed Moana’s hand. It was just….magical.” Harper also giggled throughout Aulani’s KA WA‘A Luau.

Equally as important as the laughter are the bonds that families form during these events. Jenna explains: “It’s very hard in the real world to find people who share the same experience of having kids that need special things. We just made a whole family of friends of people that understand the same thing that we’re going through. That’s something we never expected from this trip, but it’s a better gift than we could ever ask for.”

This was the second Aulani Wish Week, but there promises to be many more. The event was a success thanks to the dedication of Cast Members, Disney VoluntEARS, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
