Guests Can Soon Meet Lord Henry Mystic and Albert at Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland is about to introduce a truly awesome walk-around character. Well, he may not be the one doing the walking. Albert, Lord Henry Mystic’s sidekick monkey, will soon greet guests from the hip of Charlotte, his zoologist friend.
Lord Henry will also greet guests in Mystic Point, but on his own. It’s clever. The character actor doesn’t have the added pressure of controlling the monkey. That’s left to Charlotte.
Mystic Manor may not be familiar to those of us who spend our vacations in Orlando or Southern California, but it’s wildly popular with guests who’ve visited Hong Kong Disneyland. The attraction centers around Lord Henry Mystic, an eccentric adventurer, explorer, and art collector.
During one of his expeditions, Henry discovered Albert trapped in the web of a giant spider. Rather than take the monkey away from his tropical home, Henry put down roots and built Mystic Manor. The museum houses the art and artifacts gathered by members of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.).
That society plays a small role in several Disney attractions and experiences around the world. Members include Barnabas T. Bullion of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad fame, Dr. Albert Falls (Jungle Cruise), Captain Mary Oceaneer (Disney Cruise Line’s Oceaneer Club), and Jock Lindsey (Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs).
Even Indiana Jones has ties to S.E.A., which is why he served as the guest of honor during a Society-themed party we attended at Hollywood Studios last December.
Albert has also become an important Society player, accompanying Lord Henry on adventures and, according to Disney, “charming members of the S.E.A. with his mischievous nature.”
Lord Henry Mystic, Albert, and Charlotte will start greeting guests on May 17, 2026, exactly 13 years after the Mystic Manor opened. Their appearance is also part of the finale of “The Most Magical Party of All,” Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary celebration.
