Disneyland Paris Reveals New Concept Art, Details for Lion King Ride

Disney Adventure World is going to be special. The reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park is getting World Premiere, an Up-themed ride, and Arendelle. But I have my eye on Prides Land and its signature log flume ride. Disney shared concept art and plenty of new details about both earlier today.

“When the sun rises on the realm after the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026, an all-new water attraction will plunge guests deep into the heart of the Pride Lands at Disney Adventure World, where Simba will await them for an unforgettable adventure complete with iconic songs from Disney Animation’s 1994 masterpiece, The Lion King.”

Sight lines in Pride Lands will be dominated by the 120-foot Pride Rock. Guests will float through the rock’s caves as “they embark on a sensational and musical adventure, moving through iconic scenes and sceneries from the beloved animated movie.” The ride will feature three drops, including the final 52-foot plunge.

In addition to that greatness, Pride Lands will also have dining, shopping, and character interactions. Construction begins this fall.

I’m not usually a fan of copying rides between parks, but Animal Kingdom needs its own Pride Rock.
