Walt Disney Studios Park Becoming Disney Adventure World
Disney is rebranding one of its Disneyland Paris theme parks. Walt Disney Studios Park is set to become Disney Adventure World. The name change is a small part of a much larger overhaul. In fact, Disney will have replaced 90% of the original park once the transformation is complete.
“Today, we are changing the story of Walt Disney Studios Park, evolving from ‘how it’s done’ soundstages to celebratory theaters and adventures that come to life in immersive worlds. These fully realized adventure worlds will become the focus of the park’s new identity and appear as realms that guests discover as they navigate deeper within the park and are invited to participate in adventures inspired by our most beloved stories.”

Immersive lands
Like Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney Studios Park originally gave guests a behind-the-scenes look at how movies are made. Also like Hollywood Studios, the new park is pivoting from that concept to offer immersive lands. Worlds of Pixar and Marvel Avengers Campus opened recently. A third immersive area is on the way as World of Frozen is currently in development. That land recently opened at Hong Kong Disneyland and will debut this summer as “Frozen Kingdom” at Tokyo DisneySea.
Arendelle’s colorful village will back up to the North Mountain. The land will sit next to Adventure Bay, the gateway to the park’s immersive lands. The water feature will also serve as an entertainment stage with 360-degree views, fountains, music, lights, and special effects.
Another immersive land is in the early stages of development.
A reimagined entrance
A reimagined park needs a new entrance. Crews will begin work on World Premiere this month, which will treat guests to a “glamorous film premiere in the heart of Hollywood on a starry night.” The new design pays tribute to historic movie theaters and will open in spring 2025.
After guests leave that initial building, they’ll arrive at World Premier Plaza, “an area that brings together theaters, currently celebrating Disney Animation and Pixar stories.” The area will pay homage to Broadway and West End theaters.
Adventure Way
Guests will continue down Adventure Way to gain access to the park’s immersive lands. This area is marked by themed gardens and Raiponce Tangled Spin, an all-new family attraction that allows riders to spin through the floating lanterns scene from Tangled. Adventure Way is also home to The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, a table-service restaurant that provides diners with views of Adventure Bay and the opportunity to meet their favorite princesses.
New Entertainment offerings
Before the park changes names, Disney is bringing two new experiences to Walt Disney Studios. Alice & The Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland will debut on May 18. Disney describes this show as “high-flying acrobats pushing their limits in a supercharged pop and rock showdown with two possible endings decided by the audience.”
Later in 2024, Avengers Campus will be getting a new nighttime activation that will come to life on the Worldwide Engineering Brigade building. It will combine projections, music, and special effects with an all-new story that features favorite and new-to-Disneyland Paris Marvel characters.
Disney Village transformation
Disney Village is getting a makeover, as well. The shops are being redesigned to allow for new experiences. A Disney lifestyle shop and a Disney home store will open later this year. A redesign is also in the works for the current Disney store. Finally, a refurbished LEGO Store will include interactive play stations and photo ops.
Davy Crockett Ranch makeover
The Davy Crockett Ranch bungalows will soon get a new look that will elevate the hotel’s theming. The Junior Woodchucks and Donald Duck will be featured throughout the property.
Disney will provide more specifics about Disney Adventure World at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
