Disneyland Adding Rapunzel’s Tower to Storybook Land Canal Boats

Rapunzel’s Tower from Tangled is coming to Storybook Land Canal Boats during Disneyland’s 70th Celebration. The new addition will reside between Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall once the attraction reopens in Fantasyland this winter. ThemeParkIQ tracked down the permit, which reveals the Tower will have a maximum height of 10 feet.

Storybook Land Canal Boats is an opening day attraction at Disneyland, although it debuted as Canal Boats of the World. After just a few months, the ride closed so Imagineers could transform it into the tiny wonderland we love today. Like Jaime, Walt Disney loved tiny art. From the Disney Parks Blog:

“Walt long had a fascination with miniatures, which he collected for many years. His love of these petite creations was an inspiration for the creation of the attraction that would become the Storybook Land Canal Boats.”

The ride, built to a 1:12 scale, is filled with miniature homes, villages, and castles from Disney fairytales. The Rapunzel scene, complete with Flynn Rider wanted posters, will include two different songs depending on when guests ride. During the day, they’ll be treated to When Will My Life Begin? At dusk, the soundtrack will switch to I See the Light.
