Disney World Monorails Get Glowing Logo Update

Disney World’s monorails are being outfitted with glow-in-the-dark logos. The update builds on the undercarriage lighting added to the fleet’s 12 trains during the resort’s 50th anniversary celebration. I dig the new look. But I also can’t help but wonder how many more updates the Mark VI trains have left in them. They debuted back in 1989, and their days must be numbered.

For now, I can’t wait to photograph the new “Walt Disney World Monorail System” logos. I’m sure many of those pics will be blurry messes until I figure out the settings. But you’ll never see those. X’s Scott Gustin perfectly captured the new look last night:

Disney World employs 3,500 transportation Cast Members and hundreds more engineers and maintenance workers. Be nice to all of them (and give them compliments).
