Disney World Finally Lets Guests Make Park Reservations in the MDE App
Last week, Disney rolled out a significant update to the Disneyland app that finally lets guests make theme park reservations without getting kicked to a browser. Tonight, the My Disney Experience (MDE) app has followed suit.
I covered why this matters when the feature first appeared in the Disneyland app, but it’s worth repeating here.
Most guests rely on Face ID, iCloud Passwords, or Google Password Manager to handle their Disney login credentials. But whenever those systems fail, or the process requires manual verification, the browser redirect creates unnecessary friction. Just because you’re signed into the Disney app doesn’t necessarily mean you’re also signed into your Disney account in the browser.
Keeping the entire reservation flow inside the app removes that hurdle. And honestly, that’s appreciated, because most of us are already annoyed that reservations are still required in the first place.
The reservation process is incredibly intuitive. Just tap the plus (+) icon, select “Make or Modify Park Reservations,” and follow the prompts.
If you don’t see the update, try swiping up to restart MDE. That should clear the cache and allow you to make theme park reservations directly in the app.
Now, if Disney would only reserve park reservations for the busiest days of the year, we probably wouldn’t get this excited about reservation upgrades in the app in the first place.
