Disneyland App Now Lets Guests Make Park Reservations Without a Browser

Disneyland guests can now make park reservations directly inside the Disneyland app. Previously, tapping “Make a Park Reservation” kicked users out to a browser.

We expected this update to arrive on both the Disneyland and My Disney Experience (MDE) apps with the resort check-in rollout earlier this week. We’re still unsure why that didn’t happen. But if Disney needed a few extra days to avoid breaking something this important, that’s for the best.

This is a meaningful improvement. Most guests likely rely on Face ID, iCloud Passwords, or Google Password Manager to handle their Disney login credentials. But whenever those systems fail or need manual verification, the old browser redirect creates unnecessary friction. Being signed into the Disney app doesn’t mean you’re also signed into your Disney account in the browser.

Keeping the reservation flow entirely inside the app removes an annoying hurdle for guests trying to book park reservations. That’s a good thing, since most of us are annoyed at having to make reservations in the first place. Now, if Disney could eventually limit park reservations to only the busiest days of the year, that would be even better.

We’re hearing the MDE version of this update will go live sometime next week.
