Disney World Animals Enjoy Pumpkin Treats for Halloween

Walt Disney World animals are getting treats this Halloween season. Nope, not leftover Mars candy from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Instead, the animal nutrition team served up pumpkins to several of the resort’s animals, including giraffes, gorillas, and okapi. Spotted eagle rays even got in on the act, but I can see no evidence they enjoyed that meal.

Disney shared a video of more animals joining the fun. Not all snacked on their pumpkins, but they sure did enjoy playing with them.

Disney’s animal nutrition team is responsible for feeding more than 5,000 animals across Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and EPCOT’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends. They deliver 10,000 pounds of food every day, tailored to each species’ needs. You can see these dedicated Cast Members in action, and the animals they care for, on Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Disney+. Better yet, look for them the next time you visit the parks.
