Disney Treasure Delivery Ceremony Marks Final Construction Milestone

Cruise ship builders observe several construction milestones, from the steel cutting to the float out. Today, Disney and Meyer Werft celebrated the final step in the Disney Treasure build process, the delivery ceremony. A delivery ceremony marks the transfer of the ship from the ship’s builder to the cruise line. The Treasure’s ceremony took place in Eemshaven, Netherlands. Shipyard workers and team members from Meyer Werft and Disney Cruise Line were on hand to celebrate.

Meyer Werft announced that the Disney Treasure “features some of the most complex and innovative entertainment facilities in the cruise industry” and was completed earlier than expected.

The Treasure is Disney’s sixth cruise ship and the fourth built by Meyer Werft. The Disney Destiny is currently under construction in Papenburg, Germany. At D23, Disney announced they hired the company to build four additional ships. Meyer Werft also took over the construction of the Disney Adventure when Disney purchased the unfinished ship from Genting Hong Kong.

The Disney Treasure will sail on its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024.
