Disney Treasure Exterior Construction is Complete
The Disney Treasure has reached a major construction milestone. Earlier today, the ship floated out of the construction building and into the harbor at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. A tugboat helped guide the massive vessel, which cleared the building’s doors with three feet of clearance on each side. Minnie Mouse was on hand to oversee the operation.
A ship’s Float Out marks the completion of exterior construction. Crews will now focus their attention on the Treasure’s interior spaces. It won’t be long before it makes its transatlantic voyage to Port Canaveral, Florida.
Earlier this week, Disney Parks Blog shared a photo of the Treasure’s stern, complete with Peter Pan and Captain Hook. The characters were lifted by shipyard cranes and bolted to the ship earlier this week. Imagineers chose the characters because they “complement the Disney Treasure’s theme of adventure and add a touch of Disney magic to the classically designed exterior of the ship.”
The Disney Treasure sets sail in December 2024.
