Disney “Mickey Faces” Collection Coming to Uniqlo

Disney “Mickey Faces” Collection Coming to Uniqlo

I’m not a big clothes shopper. In fact, I despise shopping. Most of what I wear comes from Costco. They make it so easy. See some pants you like? Toss them into the cart with the bulk toilet paper and Kirkland milk. But I do enjoy shopping at Uniqlo in Disney Springs. Their clothes have cool designs and are good quality, and the checkout process is the coolest retail experience ever. You only have to throw your items in a bin and the computer rings up your total.

Uniqlo is about to get even better. The Disney “Mickey Faces” Collection arrives at their Disney Springs location and online store on February 10. Three artists came up with unique designs for this collection: Nelson Ribeiro (Senior Graphic Designer supporting Marvel), Kaori Matsuo (Lead Artist with DCP), and Catherine Chen (Senior Designer with Disney Consumer Products).

Ribeiro’s Mickey has a comic book vibe, thanks to his love of Marvel.

Matsuo’s design is more abstract. “The goal was for the elements in this design to come together subtly, forming Mickey’s shape only when viewed as a whole,” she said.

Finally, Chen designed an 8-bit Mickey: “I drew heavy inspiration from ‘90s, early-Macintosh era computer GUI’s and their almost cross-stitch-like pixel graphics.”

The Disney “Mickey Faces” collection will be available on February 10 online and at the Uniqlo in Disney Springs.
