Disney Dream Getting a Funnel Suite

Disney Dream Getting a Funnel Suite

The rumors are true. The Disney Dream is getting a funnel suite, but that’s just one of the many upgrades coming to the ship. This fall, guests will be able to enjoy updated kids’ clubs, a new concierge lounge, and a revamped spa. Work will begin immediately after the Dream completes its European summer cruise season.

The Dream Tower Suite

The Dream’s funnel suite will pay homage to Sorcerer Mickey, the ship’s stern character. Specifically, the suite’s decor is based on “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from Fantasia. The space will be “full of gilded features that reflect the Disney Dream’s art deco motif” and will include “celestial-inspired surroundings, carpet design inspired by flowing water, and a chandelier reminiscent of his famous control of the waves.”

The Disney Wish was the first ship to offer a funnel suite. The two-story suite is nothing short of spectacular. It was no surprise when Disney announced that the Treasure would also be getting a funnel suite. And now Disney has decided to retrofit its older ships with accommodations most of us can only dream of.

As you can expect, two-story accommodations on a Disney cruise won’t be cheap. DCL Duo shared that a late January 4-night sailing for two adults will cost over $28,000. I wouldn’t leave the room. Not for Castaway or Lookout Cays. Not for pirate night. And not for the baby races.

Well, maybe for the baby races.

Kids’ Clubs

The Oceaneer Club is getting a big upgrade, thanks to the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB):

“At Marvel WEB Workshop, young recruits will be able to test new suit prototypes for Spider-Man and other heroes and conduct training simulations using WEB technology to fend off enemies from the Workshop – no pressure, of course. The best part? Avenger mentors will drop by the workshop to check in on their progress!”

Older kid spaces have also been upgraded. Edge, the tween club, is moving to deck 5. The new space will have an outdoor area complete with a ball pit and games. That space is exclusively for Edge and Vibe, the teen club. Edge is also getting a club lounge and dance floor.

Concierge Lounge and Spa

The Dream’s updated concierge lounge is inspired by Disney’s film, Hercules. The new lounge “will have light, airy details and rich colors inspired by the clouds of Mount Olympus, with hints of bright gold evoking the gates to the kingdom of the gods.”

The spa will have new treatment rooms and an upgraded check-in area.

These updates will be available once the Disney Dream returns to its home port of Fort Lauderdale this fall.
