DINOSAUR to Remain Open Through 2025

Disney just revealed that DINOSAUR will remain open through 2025. And here I thought we said goodbye last week. Here’s the announcement:

“While you’re visiting, make sure you “go get that dino” at DINOSAUR. We’ve previously shared this attraction will be closing to make way for the new Tropical Americas land – 2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!”

That’s great news for fans who thought they weren’t going to make it back to enjoy this dark ride one last time. See what I did there? The rest of the Dinoland U.S.A. attractions aren’t so lucky. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s, and Fossil Fun Games are still scheduled to close on January 13, 2024. We still don’t know the closing dates for Restaurantosaurus or The Boneyard.

Dinoland U.S.A. will eventually be replaced by Tropical Americas, complete with Encanto- and Indiana Jones-themed attractions. In hindsight, Disney had no choice but to keep Dinosaur around for another year. Closing it now would’ve removed a top-tier ride at least two years before Encanto is ready. A staggered Tropical Americas opening makes sense for a park with limited E-ticket attractions.
