DinoLand U.S.A. to Close Forever at Animal Kingdom on February 2, 2026

DinoLand U.S.A., DINOSAUR, and Restaurantosaurus will close for good on February 2, 2026. Guests have until February 1 to enjoy the last remnants of Animal Kingdom’s quirky land. Construction crews are already at work, transforming the area into the upcoming Tropical Americas.

Disney is taking a phased approach to closing DinoLand’s attractions. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s, and the Fossil Fun Games shut down in January, and yesterday marked the final day for The Boneyard. The strategy makes sense. Keeping DINOSAUR open is critical in a park with so few rides. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! debuts November 7 and should help ease some of Animal Kingdom’s capacity issues, but thrill-seekers will still find the park short on big attractions, at least until Tropical Americas debuts in 2027.

Based on recent permits, we predicted that DinoLand could close sooner. We don’t mind being wrong, at least this time. It’s possible the retheme could begin while guests are still being sent back in time by Dr. Grant Seeker.

DinoLand U.S.A. has always been uniquely Animal Kingdom. Fans have one last chance to soak in its greatness before it closes forever in February.
