Walt Disney World Sets 2027 Skyliner Closure Dates for Annual Refurbishment

Back in April, Walt Disney World revealed that the Skyliner will be closing for refurbishment in January 2026. The gondola system typically undergoes a short downtime each year, usually lasting about a week. True to form, Disney just announced that the Skyliner will also be down from January 24 – 30, 2027.

Disney World guests traveling between EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and several Skyliner resort hotels will rely on bus service instead. These are the Skyliner resorts that are most affected:

Art of Animation
Caribbean Beach
Pop Century
Riviera

The downtime might also affect guests staying at BoardWalk Inn and Villas and the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.

By sharing the dates over a year in advance, Disney is giving guests considering a Skyliner resort plenty of time to adjust their plans. It’s a smart move, since the Skyliner is a major perk for many visitors.
