Plan Ahead: Disney Skyliner to Close for Maintenance in January 2026

The Disney Skyliner will undergo a short refurbishment and be unavailable from January 25 through 31, 2026. Disney World guests traveling between EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and the Skyliner resort hotels will have to rely on bus service instead. These are the Skyliner resorts:

Art of Animation
Caribbean Beach
Pop Century
Riviera

The downtime could also impact guests staying at BoardWalk Inn and Villas and the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. By announcing the closure 9 months in advance, Disney is giving visitors plenty of time to change their plans. Yes, the Skyliner is that big of a draw.

January Skyliner maintenance isn’t uncommon. While it won’t happen in 2025, you can usually count on downtime early in the year. Disney routinely completes the maintenance early, but don’t bank on that always being the case. If the Skyliner is an important part of your Disney World vacation, you might want to avoid mid-to-late January reservations.
