Universal Kids Resort Will Close on October 1 Due to Severe Weather
Frisco has spent months waiting for rain. Apparently, we should have specified how much we wanted all at once.
With severe weather in tomorrow’s forecast, Universal Kids Resort will be closed all day on Thursday, October 1. Hotel operations will continue as normal. Nobody would enjoy riding Rhonda’s Trollsfest Express with sideways rain pelting them in the face, anyway.
There’s not much else to say about the closure, but here’s the official announcement anyway:
“Due to severe weather impacting the area, Universal Kids Resort will be closed Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026. Our hotel will remain operational as we focus on taking care of our guests.”
Yesterday, we shared an article covering the park’s weather policies. If you planned to visit Thursday, now is a good time to review those details, including how to handle your tickets.
As for hotel guests, Universal says its focus will be on taking care of them. We don’t have any inside information about what that might include. When severe weather closes Universal’s Orlando parks, Team Members often bring extra activities into the hotels. We expect the same in Frisco.
