Universal Kids Resort Debuts Halloween Costumes Made In-House

The Halloween season officially got underway at Universal Kids Resort on Friday, one day after torrential rain forced the park to close. The gloom stuck around, along with a few light showers. It was the perfect vibe to start the Halloween season. The sub-80 temperatures also helped.

As soon as I walked through the gates, I spotted several Team Members wearing new Halloween costumes. The purple, orange, and green outfits looked fantastic, even through their raincoats. The orange plaid vests have lapels covered in spiders and webs, with matching patterns on the orange and purple scarves. Plaid bands on the orange and purple hats tie it all together. Aahs n Oohs calls them “fun and whimsical.” I think everyone will agree.

Eventually, the rain stopped, and I was able to snap some photos.

I’m looking forward to photographing them on a sunny day when those colors will be turned up to 11.

More Halloween-clad Team Members arrived later in the day, many working the six “Trick for Treat” games set up around the Isle of Curiosity. Several usually work in the ticket office and were thrilled to spend the day outside playing games with guests.

These costumes are Universal Kids Resort originals, designed and sewn entirely in-house. They also share a detail with those Trick for Treat carts, which include the same spider web patterns.

Dan Cuffe, the resort’s General Manager and a Vice President with Universal Destinations & Experiences, shared those details with me. He also promised more Halloween surprises are coming to the park soon.

Cuffe was taking in the scene at Isle of Curiosity with several other Team Members. I asked if he’d pose for a photo in front of the park’s pumpkin backdrop. He politely declined, saying the focus should be on his team.

Along with the new duds and games, Isle of Curiosity hosts Monster Tots Superfan Spooktacular and a Halloween Costume Parade, with Gabby and her friends leading kids through the land. Costumes are welcome, but not required. Both the show and the parade take place several times a day.

Halloween runs from October 2 through November 1 at Universal Kids Resort.
