Steel Rises on Encanto Ride Building at Animal Kingdom’s Tropical Americas

Tropical Americas construction reached a major milestone yesterday as steel went vertical in the Encanto ride building. Walt Disney Imagineering shared a short video from behind Animal Kingdom’s construction walls.

Last month, crews began pouring concrete for the ride’s massive show building. Bioreconstruct captured that milestone as it was happening.

The steel beams were installed along the back edge of the concrete slab in the photo above, which houses the ride’s maintenance area.

The Encanto attraction is themed around the family’s Casa Madrigal. Here’s how Disney Parks Blog describes the action:

“Inside the Casita, Antonio has just received his special gift — the ability to communicate with animals — and his room has transformed into a rainforest. It’s time to go explore alongside him, and you never know what member of the family you might bump into…”

Tropical Americas debuts at Animal Kingdom in 2027.
