Concrete Poured for Encanto Attraction in Disney’s Tropical Americas

Construction is steadily moving forward in Tropical Americas, the new home for Encanto and Indiana Jones in Animal Kingdom. Just a few weeks after construction went vertical, crews have poured concrete for the Encanto-themed attraction’s massive show building. Bioreconstruct once again captured the latest milestone from above.

Before diving into Bio’s new photos, let’s get our bearings by looking at a Tropical Americas map Disney filed with the South Florida Water Management District earlier this year. The blue items are the new land’s structures, the green represent landscaping elements, and the yellow highlights pathways. Those elements overlay DinoLand U.S.A.’s layout. The labels are ours.

For more perspective, here are concept renderings of Tropical Americas and Casa Madrigal, the Encanto-themed attraction.

The newest slab was added to the maintenance area at the southern end of the Encanto building. Bioreconstruct caught crews in action as they smoothed the concrete with power trowels. Nearby, an earlier pour can be seen curing.

The new concrete slabs aren’t the only progress. Several footings, forms, walls, vertical columns, and utilities are now in place. Bio’s images also put the Encanto building’s size in perspective – it’s huge. Compare its footprint to the tractor-trailer parked nearby.

DinoLand U.S.A. officially closes when DINOSAUR’s last Time Rover returns to the station on February 1, 2026. Until Tropical Americas opens in 2027, Animal Kingdom will be running a little light on rides. It’s heartening to see crews moving so quickly to make that gap as short as possible.
