Safety Netting Added Above Better Zoogether Queue for Tree of Life Maintenance

Cast Members and their guests were treated to some unique views of the Tree of Life this morning. Disney has installed safety netting over portions of the Zootopia: Better Zoogether queue. And while the organic construction fits the park’s aesthetic, we don’t believe it’s a permanent addition to Discovery Island. The nets are required for upcoming Tree of Life maintenance.

We don’t yet know how extensive the Tree of Life maintenance will be or when it’s set to begin. But since the Tree of Life has been standing since before Animal Kingdom debuted in 1998, it probably does need some TLC. The fact that we don’t see scaffolding regularly surrounding the structure is a testament to the brilliance of Zsolt Hormay and the dozens of other Imagineers who designed, engineered, and sculpted the tree.
