Ride Testing Begins for Test Track 3.0

Test Track 3.0 reached a major milestone yesterday as ride vehicles were seen (and heard) speeding around the track. While reports suggest Imagineers have been conducting overnight tests for the past couple of weeks, yesterday was the first time testing occurred during regular park hours. MagicbandManiac shared a short video of the testing.

Coincidentally, yesterday marked Test Track’s 26th anniversary. The ride debuted on March 17, 1999. Nicely done, Disney!

We don’t know much about the third iteration of Test Track, but we do know the ride entrance will no longer include an erector set facade. A much sleeker entrance is planned, one that returns the building to its World of Motion roots. Bioreconstruct shared an aerial photo of the work progress last fall.

Test Track is scheduled to reopen in late summer. We’ll update our countdown clock as soon we’re provided an exact date.
