Report: EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion Redevelopment Plans Approved

Figment fans have been waiting a long time for his ride to get some love. If a new report is accurate, they might finally have some good news coming their way.

According to WDWMAGIC, plans to redevelop EPCOT’s Imagination! Pavilion, home to the cult-classic Journey Into Imagination With Figment, have been approved. Len Testa of TouringPlans responded to the site’s post on Bluesky, saying, “I believe this is true.”

There aren’t any other details yet, but that could change tomorrow night when Neil Patrick Harris takes the stage for the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23. His hosting isn’t lost on Disney fans. Harris is a huge fan of the purple dragon and has never been shy about it. He even narrated the Figment episode of How Not to Draw on Disney+.

Could he revive Dreamfinder, Figment’s longtime partner who disappeared from the ride in 1998? If he makes that announcement, it won’t matter what else he tells fans on Saturday night. Their year will be made.

A redevelopment of the Imagination! Pavilion could involve much more than the ride itself. In addition to Journey Into Imagination With Figment, it’s home to ImageWorks, the Magic Eye Theater and its Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival, and the ImaginAtrium, a Disney Vacation Club lounge.

Horizons: A Carousel of Progress, the Disney Experiences showcase, will be livestreamed on Disney+ on August 15, 2026, at 7 PM PT.
