Photos: Disney Dreams That Soar
Disney Dreams That Soar will complete its limited-time run at Disney Springs later this evening. If Disney was looking to gauge guest enthusiasm for drone shows in the parks, I think they have their answer. Disney Springs crowds were higher than normal all summer. And while fans didn’t love the crowded sidewalks and parking garages before and after each performance, most enjoyed the show. It was simple and loaded with Disney characters (even though a few elicited a “who’s that?” when they formed in the sky).
I think Disney Dreams That Soar was a dress rehearsal for bigger things to come. I expect to see drones in Disney World parks sooner rather than later. Wouldn’t you like to see something like this over Galaxy’s Edge?

The Death Star wouldn’t make sense with the current GE timeline, but that doesn’t seem to be a concern of Disney anymore. After all, A Mandalorian and Grogu mission is coming to Smugglers Run in 2026.
Regardless of what drone shows we get in the future, I want to share my photos of Disney Dreams that Soar. I didn’t take pics of every character because, you know, I kinda wanted to enjoy it without looking through my viewfinder the whole time. And while the clouds were beautiful that night, they didn’t give me an ideal backdrop for the drones’ lights. I might re-edit these at some point. Or not. It’s a lot of work.
