Obligatory Muppets Holiday Overlay Coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Something groovy is coming to Hollywood Studios this holiday season. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay is taking over G-Force Records November 4 through January 6.
“Obligatory Holiday Overlay” is an excellent name. I love the honesty.
Here’s how Disney announced it:
“The Electric Mayhem is putting its own spin on the season with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, a limited-time experience turning their already legendary concert into a festive celebration filled with seasonal tunes and new surprises.”
Guests will hear festive music in the recording studio’s courtyard. Inside, The Electric Mayhem will be rehearsing for its holiday spectacular across town. Chaos and explosions will ensue. So, a fairly standard Muppet rehearsal, with Christmas music.
Disney Parks Blog also shared a photo of Gonzo and Rizzo in their caroling duds. Hopefully, they’ll make an appearance in the queue. Rizzo need the gig now that he’s been evicted from his pizza joint.
Once guests board their Muppet Labs’ L.I.M.O., they’ll hear one of four holiday songs. Disney has shared three titles so far:
- Holiday Road
The Electric Mayhem featuring Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson - Silver Bells
The Electric Mayhem featuring Cyndi Lauper
Holiday overlays should be obligatory on all rides. Can you picture that?
