New Disney Jollywood Nights Details Announced

Disney isn’t holding anything back with their latest nighttime party. Earlier this morning, they unveiled the food and beverages guests will enjoy at Disney Jollywood Nights. And I want it all. Seriously, this party might be the best late-night Disney offering yet. Just look at that Christmas Gertie Cookie!

What is Disney Jollywood Nights?

Jollywood Nights is special ticketed nighttime party, held on select nights between November 11 and December 20, 2023. Children are welcome at this event (a GMA host erroneously said it was an adult-only party). Ticket prices range from $159 to $179, depending on the night. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members will save $10 per ticket. Guests may purchase tickets here.

Before we go any further, I have to be the bearer of bad news. You will have to pay for food and beverages at Jollywood Nights. Neither is covered by your event ticket.

What Makes Jollywood Nights Special?

Food, themed entertainment, food, shows, food, rides, and some beverages. Honestly, apart from the Hollywood Brown Derby being transformed into a “smooth jazz joint”, I’m excited about everything Disney has announced. Don’t get me wrong. I love jazz. But I’m not a fan when you add “smooth” before it. But I digress.

Three event-exclusive shows will be available:

  • Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will host a musical variety show at the Theater of the Stars. Princess Tiana, Belle, and others will also make appearances.
  • Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will be featured in a sing-along at the Hyperion Theater.
  • The night will end with Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Disney doesn’t mess around with their nighttime spectaculars. I expect this one to be great, as well.

  • You’ll be greeted by a DJ spinning a holiday mix on Hollywood Boulevard.
  • Echo Lake will host a “throwback bash” featuring Powerline Max, Phineas, and Ferb.
  • Commissary Lane will be home to Holiday Fiesta en la Calle and feature live music (yes!!!) and Latin-inspired holiday food.
  • Fans of adult beverages should head to the Hollywood Tower Hotel and the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club. A live band (yes!!!) will perform holiday tunes. Capacity is limited at this venue.
  • Finally, Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby will feature holiday jazz, light bites, and craft cocktails. Capacity is limited here, as well. A mobile walk-up list will be available. Keep your My Disney Experience app handy.

Food & Drinks

I’m not going to do a copy and paste of everything listed in the Foodie Guide. It all looks delicious. But I will tell you that I’d save all my calories for Holiday Fiesta en la Calle at ABC Commissary. I love Latin food during the holidays, especially tamales. Here’s what Jollywood Nights offers:

Again, check out the Foodie Guide for complete details.

As is the case with any Disney nighttime event, you can expect many character meet-and-greet opportunities. From Disney:

Meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and friends in Animation Courtyard on a hot set with holiday props. Saunter over to Echo Lake to see friends like Powerline Max and Phineas and Ferb. Strike a pose with Edna Mode at Pixar Place.

I’d wait a long time take a photo with Edna Mode.

Rides will most likely have shorter wait times than you’re used to. Rise of the Resistance will have a virtual queue. We used the queue for TRON at a recent Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and loved it. My advice… ride if the lines are short, but never ride if it means sacrificing doing something that you can only do during the party.

Feel free to dress for the season. Personally, I’d have a friend make me a new festive tee shirt. I’m sure many of you have much better ideas.

Disney PhotoPass

It’s free during the event. Find the photographer Cast Members in the green shirts and go crazy!

Closing Thoughts

Yes, Disney ticketed events are expensive. But if this party is anything like the others I’ve enjoyed, it might be worth making room in your budget for Jollywood Nights. We won’t be going this year (we don’t live in Florida) but are adding it to the list the next time we’re at Walt Disney World during the holidays.
