Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade Review

My family attended our first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party earlier this month. I’m not a fan of spending extra money to go to a Disney park we visit all the time with our Annual Passes. But I was overruled. I’m really glad I was. I’m a Disney party convert. It’ll always be tough to spend “Disney party” money, however.

I’ve already written about Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. Great fireworks and projections. Beautiful lighting. This show is typical Disney nighttime greatness. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade was even better.

After watching the Sanderson Sisters at Cinderella Castle (more on that later), we headed down Main Street, U.S.A. to find our friends. They had staked out a spot in Town Square, right in front of the Town Square Theater. Once again, this area was pretty empty compared to the other areas on the parade route. You know how much I like that.

This location had plenty going for it. In addition to the light crowds, parade views were unique. We were able to see the characters and their floats from multiple angles. Also, the lighting isn’t as intense as Main Street’s. It felt more like a Halloween night in our little corner.

Before the parade, I noticed a 35-minute wait to meet Jack and Sally. I asked the Cast Member how much longer the meet-and-greet would be going. “It could end any second.”

My son and his friend sprinted. They didn’t need to worry. The wait was five minutes. They were back by the beginning of the parade. They loved the interactions they had with Jack and Sally. “Best character meet ever” according to the two.

It was time to see the star of the show, at least in my book. The Headless Horseman sent chills down my spine. What a cool character.

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade Gallery

Mea culpa moment! My camera battery died right before the end of the parade. I missed most of the villains. I’m bummed that I didn’t get photos of everything, but it was nice just watching the parade. We have photos from various phones, but they just don’t match the look from my camera. So you’ll have to imagine Cruella et al. Sorry about that.

Boo-To-You was the perfect end to our evening. I had heard about this parade for a few years. Regulars have said that it’s getting long in the tooth. Maybe. But not for us newbies, it was exceptional. I’d love to go back, but we might have to do a different party next year.
