McKim's Mile House, a New DVC Lounge, is Coming to Magic Kingdom

I’m balancing spending a week at Disney and maintaining this site. You won’t see many articles while we enjoy Moonlight Magic and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but I’ll try to keep up with the bigger items. Today’s DVC news counts as big, at least for Disney Vacation Club owners. Disney shared details about McKim’s Mile House, a new DVC lounge opening in Magic Kingdom next summer.

“Nestled in the heart of Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park, Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge offers a cozy and convenient retreat for Members to share stories and recharge during their day of fun. Experience the rustic charm of a space inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration from a bygone era.”

DVC lounges are a great perk for eligible members. EPCOT’s lounge, recently renamed the ImaginAtrium, is a popular rest stop found in the Imagination Pavilion. Disney Springs recently added a second-story lounge at the Gateway to Discovery welcome center. Finally, Star View Station in Disneyland offers incredible theme park views.

McKim’s Mile House features

It looks like Magic Kingdom’s lounge will offer the same perks as EPCOT’s, albeit with a drastically different aesthetic.

  • Comfortable seating
  • Complimentary soft drinks
  • A children’s entertainment area
  • Wi-Fi
  • Charging cords are available upon request on a first-come, first-served basis

Which DVC owners are eligible?

There are many rules to determine whether a DVC member can take advantage of this new lounge, but I won’t list them all here. Instead, open your digital membership card. If you see “DVC-Y”, then you’re good to go! You can access the card in your My Disney Experience app.

Not a member? You can still get in! DVC owners can invite up to four guests per membership card. Members will need to present their membership card and a photo ID at check-in.
